Young, pretty and successful, Twisha Khanna has it all. She works hard and has no time for frivolities like love. After all, being the creative head of a happening travel magazine is no joke.
So when she travels to Shimla on an assignment, the last thing on Twisha’s mind is love. But then, life has other plans. On finding a stack of old love letters that speak of an unrequited romance, Twisha is convinced that she must find the man who wrote these letters and help him.
Along the way, she meets spoilt rich boy Alex, who is everything she would NOT want in a man. As the two try to reunite the old lovers mentioned in the letters, they are hardly aware that how they feel about love and life is going to change forever…
REVIEWED BY SOHINEE DEY
For The Sake of Love is the journey of ever busy Twisha Khanna on how she crosses road with love when she least expected to. Twisha who is a successful woman working as the creative head of a travel magazine doesn’t have any time to spare to think of love.
Twisha is sent to Shimla for an assignment which needs to be put up in the magazine and her friend Bobby tags along with her on this journey. Who would want to miss out on Shimla anyway? She comes across a bundle of old love letters which prepares her for another quest, that is to find the owner of these letters and the person who they were addressed to.
While on this quest to find more about David, owner of the letters and to the person they were written for, Jasmine, Twisha’s path unexpectedly collides with that of Alex. Alex is the pretty looking bad boy and everything about him screams the exact opposite of what Twisha looks for in a man. But, the time they spend on searching for the old lovers David and Jasmine, somewhere, these letters brings them closer. If they are able to reunite David and Jasmine and which way Twisha’s and Alex’s new found love takes a turn is for you to find.
Now, I would say that the plot isn’t exactly original. If you have seen the movie Letters to Juliet, you would know that the plot of this book is somewhat similar to the movie. Call me cynical or whatever, but for me, the plot of this book is too easy-peasy, I mean there’s no such twists and turns. It’s simple. The author has managed to curve out the characters well which kind of overshadowed the simplicity of the plot, so yes, that’s a good thing.
The narration and the overall presentation is smooth and the flow is also good. So, the story is predictable since you would know that Alex and Twisha would end up together. The only question is how and when. If there had been hurdles and difficulties that they had to overcome, I think the story would have been more interesting.
MY FINAL VERDICT
If you are looking for a simple romance novel, this book would suffice your craving.
