MINI REVIEW: THE HOUSE OF EARTH AND BLOOD BY SARAH J. MAAS

Hello Bookdragons,

So, this is going to be the last post of this year. I have slacked a lot with my blog this year. I had a lot of things planned out but didn’t do any of that. But I am hoping to bring some changes to my blog in the new year and provide you all with better content. Thank you for being here with me and supporting me ๐Ÿ’œ

As the last post of this year, I have a mini review to share with you guys. I had received an ARC of House of Earth and Blood which is the first book in the Crescent City series. I am pretty sure almost all of you are familiar with Sarah J. Maas’s writing but for me this was the second book of hers that I read ๐Ÿ™ˆ. If you have read the book, let me know your thoughts in the comments down below ๐Ÿ˜Š

Bound by blood.
Tempted by desire.
Unleashed by destiny.

Bryce Quinlan had the perfect lifeโ€”working hard all day and partying all nightโ€”until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. Sheโ€™ll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.

Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purposeโ€”to assassinate his bossโ€™s enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, heโ€™s offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.

As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent Cityโ€™s underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passionโ€”one that could set them both free, if theyโ€™d only let it.

With unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and page-turning suspense, this richly inventive new fantasy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas delves into the heartache of loss, the price of freedomโ€”and the power of love.

House of Earth and Blood was of my most anticipated books of 2020 and it didn’t disappoint. Thanks to Bloomsbury India for sending me an ARC. This in no way affects my review.

I was going for aย #booksasoutfitsย look but then realized that I don’t have anything in red ๐Ÿ˜ญ. So, I chose to wear this gold-sequined black dress (which is really pretty but I haven’t worn it outside yet ๐Ÿ‘€). After all, Crescent City is about magic, mystery and secrets.

I loved Bryce. I love a character who grows throughout the course of the novel. She is so much more than a party girl. She came across as badass but then I got to learn that she is such a squishy marshmallow on the inside ๐Ÿฅบ. Such a fierce loyal friend, a half-Fae and a strong lover.

And we have our charming hero, Hunt Athler. Our fallen angel is honest to a fault. I was so mad with all the things that he was put through ๐Ÿ˜ญ. My poor heart ๐Ÿ’”. I can’t wait to see Bryce and Hunt’s on page romance! They have such sizzling chemistry but we always got interrupted during their intimate scenes, why you gotta do this to me, Sarah?!

I can’t wait to see what happens next in the sequel! Give me more of Bryce-Hunt moments, please!

I hope the sequel is out soon because I seriously cannot wait anymore!
